Post-pill Amenorrhea

Amenorrhea means no period. It is common to have amenorrhea soon after discontinuing the pill. But this condition may last longer than few months and manifest in the form of scanty periods for quite some time. It usually corrects itself with the time.

What happens is that the pill suppresses the pituitary. And it takes a while for pituitary gland to resume its correct hormonal relationship with the ovaries.

Most likely, the condition gets normal with time.
