I have a pimple next to my clitoris on the inner part of my labia minora. I also experienced spotting two days after my periods got over, the pimple is about 3 mm over my skin and it has pus and is red also. Is there a chance I have an std or any other problem like pregnancy or something.

Though it appears to be a simple pimple, it would be better to get yourself checked up and rule out the presence of any STD.

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a small bump on my inner labia, it’s flesh colored and feels hard/firm. It doesn’t cause any discomfort unless I press it in which case it hurts. I’ve been with the same partner for 5 years, he says he’s never been with anyone else. The only other partner I had was more than 5 years ago. I am worried this could be a sign of HPV, assuming my current partner is being honest, could I have been infected with HPV 5 years ago and this bump a symptom? Or could it most likely to be a pimple? I’d like some peace of mind in terms of probability, since a doctor’s appointment might take a couple of weeks.

This is more likely to be a simple pimple. You may leave it as such. Just keep the area clean and dry. Wash it daily with plain water. Do not apply any soap or gel over it.

It is good that you are going to see your doctor. The lesion does require an examination to rule out any probability of anything infectious.

Hello recently my left inner labia near my clitoris has been getting red and inflamed and after examining myself I see that my right inner labia near my clitoris looks to have a raised area that’s flesh colored. I don’t know what it is but I think it’s rubbing against my other Labia which is making it hurt, red and irritated. Also the right side of the hood of my clit keeps getting red and inflamed but then will go down but come back a day later or hours later. When I pee the urine seems to irritate that skin sometimes as well. I don’t know if that bump is normal or what. Any thoughts what this could be?

Most of such lesions are due to trauma, caused by rough sex, masturbation or some sport activities like horse riding.

Just avoid friction over the affected part. keep it clean and well moisturized. Would start healing in 2 to 3 days.

If the pain or swelling increases, antibiotics may be required.

Likely to be a pimple/ pulled hair that has got infected. This is very normal.

Just keep the area clean and dry. avoid friction over it while walking. Wear loose cotton lowers.

You may start applying an antibiotic ointment over it, thrice daily.

I have had a pea sized limp on my left inner Labia, sometimes pus and blood comes out of it and other times just a watery liquid. It doesn’t hurt and I haven’t been sexually active for quite some time. Sometimes it almost goes away and then flares back up again Any idea what this is and how I can treat it?

This looks like a swollen gland that’s carrying some infection in it. You may need antibiotic treatment for it. Advised to see a gyne for diagnosis.

I have been very itchy around my vulva not my vagina. I also had some discomfort. I put it down to wiping too hard and using a new scented body wash. I have no pain when urinating, no odor or anything else. I kept itching and my labia minora and it went heated and raised. I then noticed a couple of small spots that are the same color as everything else but when I feel them they have some pain and feel like a hard ball. I am still itchy and uncomfortable. It’s been 3 or 4 days.

What’s your age? Are you sexually active?

May be dryness. Avoid using any soaps or wash gels for this region. Plain water is adequate for cleaning out there. Use an emollient/ vaginal moisturizer or bland coconut oil over the area after you wash and dry the region.

I am 24 and have only had sex exactly 7 days before. We used protection. Before then was a couple of months. I used coconut oil and it soothed it and helped alot. I also have had little spots that have been here for as long as I can remember. They’re usually hard to see unless I spread out my skin. When I feel them they feel like tiny hard balls.

Keep applying coconut oil, giving it time to heal. Likely to get alright within a week.

Those tiny hard balls sound normal.

I have a pea sized lump on the right side of the labia minora, at the bottom. I sometimes get a sharp pain there but no other symptoms. I recently split with my partner and at the beginning of the year i’d feel a slight pain in the area after sex but no lump until recently. I’m 39 and not sexually active.

I have a pea size lump on the higher part of my labia minora on the left side. I noticed during my period their was a tiny pain when I wiped and then a few days later I noticed it was a lump. Very little pus and blood came out at one point but now it’s been a few days and it’s the same size and slightly swollen. Do I need antibiotics?

You need to be on antibiotics at the earliest, to prevent the spread of infection into deeper tissues.

Though an exact diagnosis requires a physical exam, this one is likely to be an inflamed hair follicle/ pimple.

Hiya. A couple days ago I started to feel some pain on the left side of my labia minora next to my clitoral hood. I’ve looked at the area several times and haven’t seen anything. No lumps or bumps. It is like a stinging sensation that almost radiates around to my backside. Almost a piercing sensation. I finally put flash on my phone and took a picture and there seemed to be 1-2 pin sized lesions in the area. Any idea of what this could be? My libido has also been completely gone for almost a year so I recently tried to masturbate using a clitoral vibrator and I’m unsure if that has to do with this.

    1. Buddy M.D. Post author

Very likely to be injury (frictional) due to the vibrator. Would heal up on its own with time. You may apply any vaginal emollient over it to soothe the affected parts.

I have a small pea sized bump on the inner part of my upper labia minora to the right of my clitoris. It is hard when I touch it and itches a little, but I have been probably irritating it trying to figure out what it is. It is red around the bump and white towards the the top. This is on the inner part where there is no hair so it isn’t anything relating to that. There is no possibility of any STI’s and I have not been sexually active for a month and a half at least.

I have a small pea sized lump that I get every now and then. It’s always on my labia minora, but can be on either side ( near the clitoris or near the vagina and on the right or left) It becomes hard and red, with white near the surface and is painful. It is only on the labia minora so there are no hair follicles and I only ever get one at a time and only once in a while. Sometimes I won’t get one for months. I’m not sure why I get them. I get my normal gyne check ups and everything comes back clear. However I have never had one when I have went to an appointment. Is normal to get pimples here where there are no follicles? Please help.

Hi, I am 21 years old. During my Period or after (when i notice) that i have a bump on my labia minora. I wear pads, i do believe i am extra sensitive down there cause when i wear pads, more bumps appear but I’m too heavy for a tampon. I don’t want birth control, i don’t have health insurance so i can’t go to the doctor right now. This issue happens every month and it’s very annoying.

        Only painful when I wipe.
I have also been itchy during shower, after showers and before (not the bump), just in general. I looked it up and it seems that I am just dry down there.

you may start using any bland vaginal emollient down there. This would avoid dryness, itching and friction there. You may even get fewer of those bumps.

Nevermind; i looked it up. And it’s gone (bump). So whenever it shows, put the ointment down there?

          2. Buddy M.D. Post author

You may, anyway, apply the emollient to avoid dryness in the area. This may prevent occurrence of frictional bumps.

Then you need treatment for it. Also, topical estrogen creams may be applied directly to the affected area down there. This would delay menopausal changes over the region and alleviate your symptoms.
