Abnormal Sleep Linked to Depressive Illness

Q: Hello, I have sleeping problem. I am sleepy most of the time and want to sleep all the time. Yesterday I slept 15 hours without interruption. I am at college so I lost most of the lectures because of sleeping. In the morning I simply could not wake up. At same time I have depression. I went to a doctor 2 months ago. I was given antidepressant drugs but I don’t use them regularly. What can I do for my sleeping? Please help me.

One normally does not require so much of sleep. If you are sleeping so much, probably the quality of your sleep is not so good.

This commonly happens in depressive states of mind.

Probably, you need to get evaluated and treated for depression.
