Healing Pimples by Warm Compress

A painless bump over the labia or anywhere else in the genital region is likely to be a pimple or an ingrown hair.

Pimples

It is common to get pimples in the genital region. They appear as small single bumps which are usually painless to touch or otherwise. There is no redness or itching over them.

Situations Where the Pimple Can be Some Other Lesion

  • If the pimple becomes painful. This may be due to some infection.
  • Pimples occurring in clusters are likely to be a STD.
  • Presence of itching over the pimple
  • Any redness or swelling under the pimple
  • Fever or presence of any other constitutional symptoms

All the above mentioned signs suggest that the pimple is not a simple one. Examination is required to diagnose the exact cause.

Dealing With a Simple Pimple

A simple pimple, that is painless, is likely to regress on its own with time. No medical intervention is required.

All you need to do is keep the area clean and dry.

It is important to understand why pimples erupt. Accumulation of moisture in the groin area or the axilla makes grounds for erupting of a pimple. Also, a lot of secretions are produced here. There are numerous glands which secrete lubricating fluids in the genital area.

When these area are not washed adequately, trapped moisture, dead cells and tissue debris lying there may block the ducts of these glands. The lubricating fluid starts accumulating inside the glands giving rise to a swelling, called pimple.

A pimple stays painless until we fiddle with it, squeezing or pushing it. This imparts infection into the pimple and it becomes painful.

To reduce a simple pimple, you may do warm compresses at least three times a day. This will soften the skin overlying the lesion and gradually drain the fluid accumulated inside it. This procedure would definitely benefit you and the bumps will go away in a week.

If, however, you notice any pus or infection in any of the bumps, you’ll have to apply some topical antibiotic cream on them. You may use mupirocin or equivalent for the purpose.

Doing a Warm Compress

Take Luke warm water in a tub. Take a clean wash cloth and dip it in the water taken. Put this wash cloth over the pimple and press gently for a while. Repeat this twice in a session.

Ingrown Hair

Hair in the pubic region is typically short and curly. It has a tendency to grow into the skin.

Such a condition is called an ingrown hair, and presents as a firm to hard bump which is painless to touch.

It may become infected if we try fiddling with it or when it rubs against the clothes while walking or day to day activities.

Managing an ingrown hair

Do warm compress over the bump twice a day for 3 to 5 days. This would soften the bump and help in taking out the hair inside it.

An ingrown hair may get infected. It may then pain or pus may be seen in it. Topical antibiotics may be applied over the lesion for a week. Also, pus inside the bump needs to be drained.

I have this bump on my vagina, on the side close to my leg. It’s kind of big, if I touch it, it does not hurt. Thought if I push down on it yeah. I’m a virgin, and I don’t know what it is. I haven’t gone to the doctor or used any creams or oils. I don’t know what to do? What it is?

It may be a pimple or an ingrown hair in the pubic region. Since it is painless, we can assume it to be non infected.

Pushing or squeezing it is not a good idea. This would only infect it and complicate the situation.

You may try warm compress over it, twice a day for 3 to 5 days. This would soften it gradually, and eventually drain it.

I have been having small bumps, they don’t look like pimples, around my vagina area. They are close to the inside folds. They sting when irritated and when I pee sometimes. They have come up and gone away before in the past but they are becoming common now and very annoying and painful during intercourse. Is there a cream or something I can do to stop this?

Wear loose cotton underwear only. Keep the area clean and dry.

The pimples are likely to regress with time. If the skin appears dry, you may apply an emollient over the area.

I have so many pimples above my vagina where hair grows. Sometimes they itch. Most times, my vagina or vagina lips itches me so badly and I scratch it hard and end up injuring my self. And then I start feeling so much pain. Also below my 2 round buttocks I have very tiny pimples. In between my thighs, I also have tiny pimple and I can’t do without tights. If I do not put on tight, I start to feel pains while walking. Above my vagina lip or the area where the vagina lips meet, I scratch it a lot when it itches. It can’t be STD cause I’m a virgin.

You need to keep the area clean, by daily washing, and dry. Don’t wear tight clothes. Wear loose cotton underwear to keep the area well ventilated and free from moisture.

Trapped moisture may give you pimples.

After each wash, moisturize your groin region with a bland moisturizing, just as you moisturize rest of your skin. Do not keep it dry.

I started having numbness and then soreness, on the right lip of my vagina. Then flesh colored pumps came out which seemed to be swollen on top of a table. the numbness lessened ,swelling went down. there was a burning whenever I urinated. as the swelling went away the pumps appeared to have whitetish tint.

What could this be? I never had this occur.
