Causes of Bleeding During Sex
Q: I am a 17 year old girl. I bleed from my vagina during and after sex with my girlfriend for almost a year now. I can’t talk to my mother about this for obvious reasons. I am starting to get scared. I need to get checked for this but I don’t know what kind of procedure to look for? Also, I can’t let my mother know the reason for visiting a doctor. Any advise for me? What kind of doctor should I see for this kind of check up? Can I go to a neighborhood clinic?

Look for a gynecologist in your neighborhood. You require a full gynecology checkup to get diagnosed for your problem.
There can be many causes of bleeding in such a way. Common among them are:
Roughness during Sex
Too much of insertion or friction may lead to some kind of trauma. This may result in bleeding.
Vaginitis
Vaginitis is inflammation of the vagina. An inflamed vagina is more prone to bleeding by even a little friction.
This inflammation may be due to some infection, like yeast infection, trichomoniasis or any other. It may also be due to some allergic cause, allergy against some soap or douche being used in the region.
Cervical Dysplasia
This condition may be a cause of bleeding during and after sex. It is basically a precancerous growth of the epithelial cells that line the cervix. It is common in sexually active young population.
The condition is treatable.
Cervical Polyp
These are small soft fragile growths coming out from lining of the cervix. They are vascular and may bleed if touched.
You need a complete gynecology check up to reach some diagnosis.
