How to Heal Pustular Face Pimples?

Q: I am a 19 year old female and have a problem with acne on my forehead. I have these painful pus filled pimples. My skin type is very oily, especially my forehead area. I need help. I can’t afford a dermatologist. What do you recommend? They are very embarrassing?

Let’s first understand why such pimples occur.

Cause of Pus Filled Painful Pimples

It is common for skin to produce more oil during the teens. This is a hormonal response. Some skin types may have a tendency to produce more oil than others.

The excess oil mixes with dead skin cells and dirt and may sometimes block the ducts draining the oil gland. Now the blocked oil gland swells up.

This gives rise to pimples. Such swellings are usually painful as they are fluid filled. This fluid continuously exerts pressure, causing pain.

Due to a natural tendency to touch the pimple, we often infect it. Hence they become pus filled.

The nearby area is also inflamed giving a red irritated look.

Steps to Be Taken to Heal Pimples

    • Keep the area clean and dry. You need to wash your forehead 3-4 times a day with clear water. A mild shampoo or soap may be used in your case, since your skin is oily.
    • Never pop or squeeze any pimple. This will infect it. Infected pimple may grow into a boil.
    • Over-the-counter face washes containing benzoyl peroxide may be used, but with caution. All these solutions have certain side effects. They may cause peeling or flaking of the skin afterwards.
    • If you feel you have infected a pimple, you need to apply some topical antibiotic on it, like mupirocin.
    • Diet is an important factor in the production of excess oil. It is recommended to cut down on dietary fat.
    • Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
    • Drink lots of water. It is a natural cleanser.

Small hardened almost like pimples first appeared on my forehead and eyelid, one or two that I could lance with a clean needle would have sometimes a pasty white, almost cottage cheese texture, and some are like a small BB which is hard like a tiny ball. I have looked up all kinda of STDs and there is NO picture of this. I don’t think that it could be a STD because of it appearing on face at times, I have searched every avenue. I saw on the Doctor’s show one day that it might be related to high cholesterol. If so, why would it be on vagina?

You get acne at all places over the body where there is excess of oil, or any other bodily secretions, moisture and tissue debris. So, the only way to avoid getting pimples is wash the areas prone to pimples frequently. Assure that they are dry, well ventilated.

Cholesterol or even the overall fat content in diet is important to be taken into consideration when you get pimples. Rich fatty diets or fried meals make you prone to get pimples.

Healthier diets, rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, detoxifies the body and makes you less prone to getting acne. Also, drink plenty of clear water.
