Driving Under the Influence
Though the kids are taught from the very early age, the importance of safe driving habits. But the disturbing trends of alcohol and drug abuse have grown significantly among the teenagers.
This has given rise to several problems including traffic hazards. Many teenagers have been found to be driving under the influence. Police has been employing various tests like breathalyzer tests. The breath is tested for the presence of alcohol. It may turn out to be falsely positive if the person is fasting for sometime.
Risk of Losing License and Invitation to Diseases
Another test is more specific in which blood sample is taken and tested for the presence of alcohol. DUI may lead to the loss of one’s compulsory license.
Not only the Etoh (liquor), but drugs like methamphetamine or cannabis may also be detected.
Besides the drug usage also has significant correlation with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) induced AIDS which is sometimes associated with lethargy during driving.
Methamphetamine may also be associated with Myocardial infarction. Other drugs may also lead to diseases such as lyme disease, colorectal cancer that is also a challenging health problem that needs to be dealt.
