Natural Ways for Improving Eye Vision
Q: Hi, I am 21 years old male. My eye specifications are- right spherical -.5, cylindrical -.75 90 axis, left spherical -.5, cylindrical -1.0 60 axis. Can it be reduced by meditation and better diet?
There is no doubt that having a good eye friendly diet can improve your eye sight. In fact, deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals in the diet is one of the causative factors leading to many eye problems.
Food for Eye
- Researches have repeatedly shown the importance of vitamin A for eye health. This vitamin can be found in vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, spinach and other green leafy veggies.
- Another nutrient is vitamin C, which can be obtained from citrus fruits and various berries.
- A moderate amount of nuts like, walnut and almonds, can be taken for Omega 3 fatty acids and other oils essential for eye.
In general, a balanced diet with a lot of green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits is all that is required for our eyes.
Also, drinking plenty of water is good for vision. It is also recommended that we give frequent restful periods to our eyes in between our work. Generally speaking, if you are engaged in some concentration work, close your eyes to give it rest after every 20-25 minutes.
Avoid too much of continuous staring screen works like television viewing or computer work. Taking a stroll amidst green surroundings in the morning or evening is good for the eye as well as the rest of our body.
Meditation is also good for all organs of the body, including our eyes.
However, it is recommended that you wear your glasses regularly till you have any number left. Get your number checked annually. Only if it has become OK, specs may be removed.
Avoiding glasses prematurely can lead to eye strain and can even increase your eye problem. So you need to be patient with it.
